Accessibility Policy of the Fields of LodeStar Venue- LodeStar Events Ltd
LodeStar Leisure Limited is committed to making our events as welcoming and accessible as possible for everyone. We welcome visitors with disabilities and accessibility needs, and we work hard to provide appropriate facilities on our site.
1. Site Terrain and Conditions
The festival takes place across a natural, 200-acre grassland venue.
Ground Conditions: While we keep the grass cut short to assist wheelchair users and those with restricted mobility, the venue is an outdoor field.
Weather Impacts: The ground consists of natural terrain and can become soft or muddy during periods of wet weather. We advise all guests to take these environmental factors into consideration when planning their visit and choosing appropriate footwear or mobility aids.
2. Free Essential Companion (Carer) Tickets
We offer a complimentary ticket scheme for essential companions or carers accompanying disabled visitors who could not otherwise attend the event.
How to Apply: You can request an essential companion ticket directly through our website booking page or by emailing us at info@lodestarfestival.com.
Alternative Formats: If you need information or booking assistance in an alternative format, please contact our team by phone at +44 (0)7455 095353 or write to us at Harvey House, Lode, CB25 9HB.
3. Parking and Arrival
Accessible Parking: Dedicated blue badge and accessible parking is situated as close to the main event areas as operationally possible (typically within 120 metres or less).
Drop-Off Point: A designated drop-off and collection point is located approximately 20 metres from the main ticket office. Vehicles can temporarily park here to allow passengers to comfortably exchange their tickets for wristbands.
Wristbands: If a guest is unable to wear a standard festival wristband on their wrist, our ticketing staff will happily secure it to their clothing or mobility aid instead.
4. Camping Arrangements
Accessible Camping: Our main accessible camping area is positioned close to the entertainment arena (typically within 50 metres for tents and 120 metres for campervans or caravans) to reduce travel distances.
Quiet Camping: For guests who prefer a quieter environment, alternative camping spaces are available further away (up to 550 metres from the arena). Please let our stewarding team know your preference upon arrival.
5. On-Site Facilities and Medical Support
Accessible Toilets: Dedicated, accessible toilet facilities are provided across key areas of the site, including the main arrival office, campsites, campervan / caravan areas, and event areas.
Viewing and Seating: While we do not operate raised viewing platforms, we provide designated tables and chairs for rest and viewing across the main areas, catering areas.
24-Hour Medical Care: Professional medical cover—including first aiders, paramedics, and emergency equipment—is available on-site 24 hours a day.
Medication Storage: If you require temperature-controlled refrigeration to safely store personal medications during the event, please contact us in advance or speak directly to the medical team on-site.
6. Strobe Lighting and Special Effects
Lighting Notice: Flashing lights, moving stage lighting, and short bursts of strobe lighting effects may be used during performances. These effects can potentially trigger reactions in individuals with photosensitive epilepsy or other sensory sensitivities. Clear warning signs will be posted at arena entrances.
7. Assisted Services
Audio-Visual Provisions: We do not currently offer official sign language interpretation, captioning, or audio description services during performances. However, we actively welcome any individuals, charities, or organizations who wish to work alongside us to help provide or facilitate these services in the future.
Staff Assistance: All LodeStar staff are trained to provide guidance, assist with site navigation, and radio for immediate medical support if required. In the event of an emergency evacuation, staff will prioritize assisting those with mobility or accessibility needs.
